Hand Drawn Avatars is a spin-off from
Flexible Reality and focuses on a Web user's "avatar" on
Twitter. There are two ways a Hand Drawn Avatar is created: the user will either submit his/her image to me or at times I will arbitrarily select a user to draw.
Twitter is a free social networkingand micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' update (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
In a world of "instant-uploads" and automatic avatar creations, I take a step back and spend 20-30 minutes on a high quality drawing for the Twitter user. In exchange of the user's permission for me to use his/her photo, I also record the experience and present the final YouTube video as a music video.
All Hand Drawn Avatars are proudly recorded with a
Flip Camcorder. Watch my
